INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS
EES MADRID (English Educational Services) has been interviewing qualified, native EFL teachers for private language schools, international day schools and companies all over Spain since 1986. We offer a completely FREE SERVICE to all native, qualified teachers. The typical profile of a teacher we can help is that of an EU (European Union) citizen with a University background and a recognised qualification to teach EFL (English as a Foreign Language) such as the CELTA, TESOL Trinity College or a course that includes observed Teaching practice with foreign students.
Although based in Madrid, where many prestigious language schools continue to use our services, more than 50% of all our clients are to be found in other parts of the country. Our busiest period of recruitment takes place from early June until the end of October, with the close of the old academic year and well into the commencement of the following year. However, our client schools require staff throughout the academic year
And in many cases with great urgency. It is a great advantage for a teacher to be in Spain itself and immediately available for both interview with schools and to start work straight away. In the world of EFL , there is a great deal of mobility, where teachers are suddenly required to commence work with minimum notice, at any time of the year.
Different schools may request teachers with differing backgrounds, especially in terms of experience with students of a certain age-range. Experience teaching Young Learners may be of paramount importance in certain schools where in others, experience with adults may be more important. Often schools organise “in-company” courses and prefer a more mature teacher with a corporate background desired.
In any case, applications are invited from both experienced and inexperienced teachers.
In the vast majority of cases an EU passport is required, or working papers for Spain, in the case of those teachers originating from outside the EU.
From time to time P.G.C.E.-trained teachers are required by International Day Schools for both Primary and Secondary level.
All applications should be sent to: Richard Harrison, Director, EES MADRID, via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
